My family had a very busy Saturday.  We ran few errands and stopped for lunch.  We then picked up the new Discover Pass, which is required to park on Washington State Park lands starting this past July 1st.  After that, we hit Bridle Trails State Park.

Bridle Trails State Park is very equestrian friendly but accommodates pedestrians as well.  It’s a quiet slice of woodlands in the heart of the east side (east of Seattle).  There is about 50 miles of trails interlaced around three primary trails.  We did about five-and-a-half today.  We did have to walk around some horse droppings and wait for a few equestrians to pass (horses have the right-of-way).  Mostly it was very quiet and peaceful with only a handful of other walkers encountered in the two-and-a-half hours we were out there.  My older daughter Rachel was getting a bit grumpy toward the end but she still had a good time.

We went out to dinner after the hike and cooled down with some milkshakes (for the girls), a daiquiri (for my wife), and a few beers (for me).  We then decided to catch Transformers: Dark Side of the Moon (DSotM) on a lark.

We saw DSotM in 3D.  It worked pretty well in this movie.  It’s definitely popcorn fare but it was a fun watch.  Incredible special effects.  And there’s a cool scene where the US troops take out a whole team of Decepticons.  This was probably the best of all of the Transformers movies.  Sit back and enjoy the ride and you should have a good time.
